Who can get 3D-4D ultrasound?
3D – 4D is not a diagnostic test; hence, it is optional.
What is the difference between 3D and 4D?
3D ultrasound shows still pictures of your baby in three dimensions. 4D ultrasounds show moving 3D images of your baby.
When is a good time to perform 3D-4D ultrasound?
Getting clear images mostly depends on the position of the baby and the amniotic fluid. If you are planning to have only one exam, we suggest to schedule your appointment anytime between 24 and 32 weeks because that’s when you will be able to see all the futures. However; it would be very interesting to see your baby in various stages of pregnancy even before week 24 since at an early stage the baby movement is very entertaining.
Will the 3D-4D ultrasound tell how much my baby weights and let us know of any abnormalities?
NO. 3D-4D ultrasound is for entertainment purposes only. In order for us to do diagnostic ultrasound you have to get a request from your doctor.
Are “good” pictures guaranteed?
Patient satisfaction is our number 1 priority. Usually our experienced technicians are able to get clear images; however, factors like baby’s position and the amount of amniotic fluid sometimes make it difficult to get good images. We will try our best to make you happy.
Do you offer Refund if no pictures are obtained?
We DO NOT offer Refund; however, if no pictures are obtained, we will ask you to come back for another limited exam.
Is 3D-4D Ultrasound Safe?
There is no evidence of ultrasound to be harmful.
Is there anything I should do before the exam?
Drink the required amount of water by your Doctor. We suggest you to drink either orange juice or cold water prior to your ultrasound since they are known to make the baby move. If the baby is facing backwards, our technician may ask you to take a walk.
